COPS WALK SOUTHWEST
February 22 - 23, 2014
2 Days - 25 Miles
Every mile a memory.
A physical challenge, an emotional high
and the opportunity to help C.O.P.S.
Join the National Concerns of Police Survivors and Arizona C.O.P.S. Chapter for the 3rd Annual COPS WALK SOUTHWEST. Together, we will bring survivors, friends and the law enforcement community together to support Concerns of Police Survivors’ Hands-On Programs.
Hands-On Programs include retreats for peer support and grief counseling for co-workers, spouses, parents, siblings, significant others and fiancés, adult children and in-laws of officers killed in the line of duty. C.O.P.S. Kids and Teens programs include C.O.P.S. Kids Camp and Outward Bound for the children of our fallen heroes.
journey will take walkers along the SRP Canals in Phoenix, AZ with a beautiful
desert backdrop for 2 days. The goal is to raise funds so C.O.P.S. can
continue helping to rebuild the shattered lives of those who lost a loved one
in the line of duty. The walk provides a physical challenge and the opportunity
to spend time with other survivors and friends walking in memory of loved ones.
Each year, between 140 and 180 officers are killed in the line of duty and
their families and co-workers are left to cope with the tragic loss. C.O.P.S.
provides resources to help them rebuild their shattered lives. There is no
membership fee to join C.O.P.S., for the price paid is already too high. COPS
WALK events support these free Hands-On Programs.
